DANCE OF THE REED FLUTES
Commissioned by Ivan Vsevolozhsky, Tchaikovsky collaborated with Marius Petipa to create a two-act ballet based on Alexandre Dumas’ adaptation of "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King". The ballet is one of Tchaikovsky’s most popular pieces, and one of the most popular ballets, still performed all across the globe (especially in Christmas time).
Dance of the Reed Flutes is a wonderful piece from Act II. 3 Flutes from Infinite Woodwinds cover the flute parts with ease, and Infinite Brass joins forces with the rest of the woodwinds in the B section.
Infinite Woodwinds and Infinite Brass are straight out-of-the-box, with a soft multi-band compressor sitting on each instrument family bus with SSL’s Bus Compressor doing the glue work on the master, followed by tape saturation.
